MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM BILL and Jill!!

and our grandchildren who proved (once again) that it isn't the gift or the toy - it's the box!!

BILL SUPERVISES

Together, they figure out that the kegarator has frozen the keg. No wonder the beer wouldn't flow (and it wasn't quite empty). Oh darn, guess we'll just have to concentrate on the margaritas!!

TAMALES BY BILL (& family)

Grandpa makes tamales with Grandma this year.

Stewart says he wants to help - so he makes a couple too. (When told to go get a spoon, he got his favorite eating spoon - a Winnie the Pooh child's spoon!)

Rosslyn is there helping too, it is a family activity. Bill's daughter, Julianna, manned the camera so no picture is available of her....

Christmas Tree Decorating - BILL STYLE

Bill demonstrates how to hang a heavy ornament on his own special hook which will distribute the weight over several branches when he is finished. Way to go Bill!!

He also demonstrated how NOT to hang ornaments - all of the same type clustered together (this photo opportunity found by daughter Wendy who had a good laugh then took a photo so we could remember and laugh again. Thanks Wen!!) They are kind of hard to see, but there are 5 misty white bubbles in the top there. When it was pointed out, Bill got out the ladder again and moved them. What a guy!!

OUR DECORATED TREE (taken Christmas Eve):

BILL IS A MUDDY BUDDY RACE FAN

On November 2, Bill attended the Muddy Buddy race to cheer on the Matt & Andy team. In the first picture the boys are quite clean - that's Bill's son, Matt, on the left. This is a 1-bike/run race where the participants trade off the bike at different hazards during the race. See them low crawl through the mud in the second picture - this hazard was at the end of the race, and they had to go through it together:

It looks like they are having fun crawling in the mud, doesn't it?
The spectators had a lot of fun watching also. The teams had different costumes. Memorable ones included full-blown Easter bunnies from the top of their furry ears to the bottoms of their white-clad, furry feet! (Bet that got heavy when it sucked up the mud!) There were also baseball uniforms, fatigues, and some serious participants in running gear.

Grandpa and Mikaela had fun watching her Daddy get dirty. Next year we will take the motorhome so we can enjoy the after race festivities and ribbon ceremony.

Ok guys, time to hit the showers - good luck!! Did you bring something clean to drive home in? Lovely kilts, by the way!! The Matt & Andy show -- never ceases to entertain us!

BILL GETS SOAKED!!

LOL - AT THE BORREGO SPRINGS RV RESORT in northern San Diego County. What a fabulous place to spend the weekend! We relaxed with a few friends, saw the visitors center, and left wanting to stay longer - we'll return next year over the Veteran's Day holiday period for 5 nights!! There is a lovely golf course, 4 hot tubs (3 are mineral baths) and a pool; a small library, store, free wifi, and all the splendor of the desert. Sunrises and sunsets you have to see to believe.... You go Bill, you rock! We even had use of the clubhouse for our meals with other friends who were there (we missed those who didn't make it...):

SAN ANTONIO LAKE

The motorhome at Lake San Antonio - near Paso Robles and just the other side of a dam from Lake Nacimiento.

ROCK MOVING! WHO NEEDS COW TIPPING?

Seems some prankster decided to block one of the campsites at San Antonio Lake. The "guys" used brute force to move the rock, rolling it out of the way. Stewart supervised, then stood by the rock so Grandma could get a shot that showed how big it was...is?

BILL AND GRANDMA DORIE

Dorie won a big jackpot and it was almost her birthday, so she was one of those featured in the Casino newspaper!

BILL PROVES IT

Yep, it's true. Women stand in a circle and talk...men stand in a line... Thanks for pointing this out Linda! L-R Steve, Dan, Richard, Bruce, Bill, Butch and Stewart in white hat, green sweatshirt (Stewie is "boys line in training").

CAMPING WITH MIKAELA

Over the past weekend, we went to Newport Dunes with the Fine Feathered Friends ... Mikaela and her mommy and daddy joined us for the weekend in the motorhome. We had a great time!

HE BABYSITS AGAIN!

Rosslyn and Stewart came over on Monday. Grandpa came out with the cell phone - talking to Aunt Wendy! Fun times at Grandpa & Grandma's house...

BILL BABYSITS on 9-13-08

Mikaela came over for a visit while her mommy and daddy went to dinner and a movie. She wanted Grandpa to read her a story, so he did. Don't her tiny feet look precious next to Grandpa's??

BILL FEEDS THE DEER...

San Antonio Lake, near Paso Robles is a favorite camping spot for us. We attend a rally in October and February each year, meeting our friends from RV.net for bingo, potlucks, and quality time around the barbecue or campfire! The deer are very tame and Bill usually finds time to scatter some bread or cereal for them.

BILL FISHES (with Quest)

NICE FISH QUEST!! Great-uncle Bill enjoys quality time with our nephew at Fisherman's Retreat near Redlands, California. Another wonderful motorhome weekend.

BILL DIVES!

Showing Rosslyn how to dive....
Nice form honey, tuck your head...

Bill is Quite Flexible!

Here he is working on the spa - taking off the water return covers for cleaning ... doesn't he look somewhat like a pretzel? It was a fun-filled weekend, emptying, cleaning and refilling the spa and painting the gazebo and wood decking. Yee-haw. Can we go camping yet??

BILL AND TEAM FLAMINGO

Bill has some Fine Feathered Friends. Floyd, at left, likes to go camping. So does Bill. Bill and Jill take the RV out with the FFF of Floyd. Some belong to Team Flamingo and those friends walked to raise money to fund MS research and aid to people with the disease. This year we walked at Legoland in San Diego. Show us your FLAMINGO!!
